Plans for the property at 495 Montauk Highway, formerly the site of a Ford Dealership, include a bank on the western end of the parcel, and a 3-story office building on the eastern end. We don't yet have the plans for the bank, but the office building has an interesting colonial look, far different from the common square brick office buildings we often see.. As currently designed, the project's decorative roof line brings the building to a height greater than a normal 3-story building's height. (See the 2 color images). On the site plan, the 3-story building is on the right.  The black & white drawing shows the plans with a flat roof that conforms to town restrictions. Click the small images to see larger versions.

Erecting a building with the attractive apprearance will require a relaxation of the Town's height restrictions.  Letters to the Town of Islip officials will let them know how YOU feel about the issue.

Alert:  This project will soon be presented to the Town of Islip Zoning Board of Appeals. Send letters to Richard Scheyer, Chairman, 40 Nassau Ave. Islip, NY  11751 if you want to urge the approval of this plan for a building that will present such an attractive sight as we enter our community.
